Everything takes longer than you planned but goes faster than you think.
Rural Life Lately & Chisholm On Rewind
🌾Rural Life Lately
Goshen Grove Farms has been a stark reminder that most of what you want to accomplish in life takes longer than you planned. This spring, the overwhelming list of tasks needed to get the farm up and running can tempt us to avoid rolling up our sleeves and digging in. I think back to all my life’s ambitions—big and small— and it’s always like this. Starting, growing, and running my business. Moving, settling, and building a community in North Country. Everything we want to start or implement in our lives always take longer than we initially plan.
But, you can’t allow this overwhelm to stop you from moving forward. I’m happy to report this past month, the hard work has started on the farm now that our long winter has finally passed. One major decision I’m excited to announce is I’m going to use the living space in our barn as my local Chisholm office. I plan to run my business and the farm from this location in the near future. There is a lot of work that needs to happen before it’s ready: cleaning out the space and getting it ready for paint, lighting, and all the other things which will make it a cozy place to host friends, clients, neighbors, and anyone who wants to stop in.
Current clean-out: All this furniture needs to go!!
After, but with no updates yet!
Other spring happenings on the farm: planting has started, leaves have filled out, and we are working on rehabbing the orchard (and we just might get some cherries this year).
